Am I the Drama? from BBC Studios now on Funny Parts platforms

BBC Studios’ digital comedy channel, Funny Parts, has launched a new six-part digital series, called Am I the Drama? which can be viewed across the Funny Parts platforms, including Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, with new sketches being posted every Wednesday and Friday.
The series, from Gobby Girl Productions is a compilation of two-minute, bizarre comedic sketches that touch on relatable aspects of everyday life, from the struggles of a set of toes in heels to the dreaded politics of a Sunday roast.
All of the sketches star Andrea Valls, who rose to viral fame after she posted a hilarious video of her cosplaying oat milk as ‘the other woman’. The series was co-produced by award-winning Gina Lyons of Gobby Girl Productions, who produced the pilot for the BBC’s In My Skin, which won a BAFTA Cymru award, and the pilot for Dreaming Whilst Black which went on to be nominated for an International Emmy.
Comedy and TV Film Producer, Gina Lyons, said: “It’s been an absolute pleasure working on ‘Am I the Drama’ with BBC Studios, we’ve created some hilariously funny content with the brilliant Andrea Valls! It’s important to showcase funny women, especially when recent reports from Televisual show that female writers are particularly under-represented (30.2 per cent) in comedy programmes, so we thank BBC Studios for knowing that women can be and are often, hilarious.”
Gobby Girl Productions seeks to uplift working-class people in the creative industries, which similarly aligns with the BBC Studios Funny Parts ethos that aims to showcase new up-and-coming comedians on their platforms. Funny Parts specialises in short form digital content and continuously searches to find online artists to collaborate with.
Valls commented: “It’s been amazing to work with a female producer in the comedy space. So many of the people I look up to in this genre are women – it goes to show how strong the female voice is and how we must keep working together to produce great British comedy”.
