BBC: 11.6m watch FA Cup third round ties

A peak of 7.4 million tuned in to watch 10-man Manchester United knock Arsenal out of the FA Cup on penalties on January 12th – an audience share of 41.1 per cent.
A peak audience of 3.2 million also tuned in to watch Manchester City beat Salford City 8-0 on BBC One on January 11th, contributing towards a total reach of 11.6 million for the FA Cup third round on BBC TV.
Across the weekend, there were 10.5 million iPlayer requests for FA Cup coverage, 4.3 million of which were for Arsenal and Manchester United’s match which ended 1-1, thus culminating in extra time and a penalty shootout.
