Simpson named Freesat CTO

Freesat, the FTA satellite broadcaster, has confirmed the appointment of Peter Simpson as the company’s new Chief Technology Officer.
He joins the company from Commscope where he was VP, Product Management for their International Video business. Simpson has also held positions at ARRIS, Nokia, Vidiator, Pace and Three UK.
Alistair Thom, managing director, Freesat commented: “Having known Peter for some time and having worked closely together as we developed out new 4K TV boxes, I’m confident that he will bring great industry knowledge and strategic vision to the Freesat team; not to mention the skills and drive to develop our platform and products in innovative new directions as we expand our business over the coming years.”
Simpson added: “I’m tremendously excited to be joining Freesat right now. Alistair and team have laid the foundations of a dynamic company that is uniquely positioned in the market place and is laser-focused on how to be successful. I am raring to go and be part of the Freesat team that will achieve that.”
