The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) – a global coalition dedicated to protecting the dynamic legal market and reducing online piracy – has obtained a permanent injunction against SetTVNow, a piracy outfit that was illegally feeding over 500 television channels to its users via online streaming or set-top devices.
“SetTVNow and other piracy outfits threaten millions of creators, damage economic growth, and hurt consumers,” commented Karen Thorland, Senior Vice President & Deputy General Counsel at the Motion Picture Association of America. “The victory over SetTVNow is a great step forward to reducing the piracy of movies and television shows, including the theft of live TV. It also continues ACE’s legal and operational victories, which continue to protect the legitimate market for creative content.”
