BT Sport raising prices
June 24, 2019
Subscribers to the BT Sport pay-TV channels will be hit with price rises of up to £48 (€53.7) a year from the end of July.
BT confirmed that customers with the Classic, Essential, Entertainment, Entertainment Plus and Sport Starter deals will pay an extra £1 a month, while there will be an increase of £24 a year for those with the Entertainment Starter deal. Those on its Max plan will pay a further £4 a month. The new prices will become effective on July 28th.
Broadband customers who watch the service via the BT Sport app alone will pay £1 a month more, taking the cost to £11 a month, or £132 a year.
BT Sport enjoyed a surge of interest at the end of the domestic football season as both the Europa League final and Champions League final were contested by all-English fixtures. The company also confirmed last week that, from January 2020, it will broadcast WWE content in the UK, ending the wrestling promotion’s 30 year relationship with Sky.
