ICASA fires chairman

South Africa’s broadcast regulator ICASA has fired its own chairman, the now convicted Rubben Mohlaloga.
Mohlaloga was convicted of fraud and money laundering in South Africa on January 15th last year. He was sentenced to 20 years’ imprisonment by the Pretoria specialised commercial crimes court on February 14th 2019.
The decision came from the nation’s National Assembly which on March 20th decided to remove Mohlaloga from office with immediate effect.
