Essel Group-owned Siti Networks saw revenues grow 4.85 per cent in Q2 (to September 30th) and helped by a digitally-connected 8.7 million homes. This is an increase of some 400,000 during the quarter-year.
Overall the company reaches (digital and analogue) about 12.2 million homes. Officially, India requires all cable homes to be digitised (with only a few exceptions) by December 31st this year.
Siti has been supplying around 400,000 boxes per quarter year.
An indication of how tough it is to convert Standard Definition signals and homes to HD viewing and subscriptions is that Siti has only 91,000 HD subscribers, which improved by 26,000 during Q2.
