June 24, 2016
Dutch quad-play operator KPN and SPI International have announced that SPI’s FunBox UHD channel will be part of a user-friendly trial that KPN started on June 21st to test its new 4K TV platform and 4K set-top box.
FunBox UHD will be the only linear Ultra HD channel to be offered at the beginning of the test launch of the new platform.
“We are pleased to see platforms which are seriously looking into 4K programming end up selecting our channel,” said Berk Uziyel, executive director at SPI International/Filmbox. “It confirms our highest quality content approach and a general entertainment multi-genre channel profile approach that we adopted for this project.”
