Envivio upgrades head-end Guru
December 9, 2014
Software-based video processing and delivery solutions specialist Envivio has introduced a new option for its Guru head-end monitoring solution – a new ‘service-oriented’ approach to monitoring that results in faster and more efficient troubleshooting of video delivery networks, including cable, IPTV, satellite and OTT.
This new option, available only through separate purchase, incorporates a service-driven, graphical, drill-down process of monitoring that sorts issues by impact on service, rather than by type of equipment. For example, issues with premium channels can be prioritised and flagged first, so operators can address problems with the greatest revenue impact. Those impacting a customer’s overall quality of experience would receive top priority as well.
Envivio’s Vice President, Products and Solutions, Boris Felts commented: “We’ve created this disruptive ‘service-oriented’ approach to head-end monitoring based on operator input and an exhaustive analysis of potential scenarios, issues and best practice mechanisms at every level.”
“Our solution is the head-end ‘Guru’, created by operators for operators, so they have comfort knowing their head-ends are being monitored 24/7/365, and issues are being prioritised by revenue and service impact,” he added.
