Sky launches #WatchOnSky Twitter tool
April 16, 2014

BSkyB is trialling a new feature that allows its customers to access content via icons contained within the broadcaster’s tweets.
Sky subscribers can watch and record programming via their Twitter timeline when they see posts from Sky accounts containing the #WatchOnSky hashtag. Alternatively, viewers can tap the Sky+ ‘R’ to remotely set their Sky+HD box to record movies, TV shows and sporting events.
“#WatchOnSky is another brilliantly simple way for our customers to find and watch the shows everyone is talking about,” commented Sky TV brand director Luke Bradley-Jones. “By simply clicking on a Tweet, customers can either instantly watch live TV or record shows for later. It’s all part of our commitment to make it even easier for our customers to discover great TV and make sure they never miss those virtual water cooler moments.”
The #WatchOnSky tweets will be posted from several Sky twitter accounts, including @SkyHD and @SkyAtlantic.
