Sky Italia dropping LT Multimedia channels
December 9, 2013
From Branislav Pekic in Rome
Sky Italia will drop the Alice, Leonardo, and Marcopolo thematic channels from its pay-TV platform from January 1st 2014.
The producer of the TV channels, LT Multimedia, has launched an advertising campaign in which it points out that this unilateral decision by Sky Italia will cancel 16 years of activity and investments. According to the head of LT Multimedia, Walter La Tona, the channels aired over 35,000 hours of original programming and were a reference point for 5 million unique monthly TV viewers.
From January 1st, the three TV channels will still be available via satellite via the free-to-air platform Tivusat, as well as on the Italiasmart online platform, which can be accessed from PC, tablet or smartphone.
