South Korea: SBS confirms first 3D programming
November 4, 2013
SBS, a leading TV network in South Korea, will begin broadcasting three-dimensional programmes this month, company officials have confirmed.
The commercial broadcaster has produced two new shows in 3D to broadcast its hit entertainment shows, soap operas and lecture programmes as well as concerts by K-pop stars such as KARA and Girls’ Generation.
One of the two shows will run every Saturday, while the other will air on the second Saturday of each month. The pilot for the weekly show will air on November 9th, the station said.
The SBS shows reproduced in 3D include popular variety show “Running Man,” music-ranking programme “SBS Popular Songs,” and a programme featuring lectures by prominent local gurus.
SBS will also air 3D commercials ahead of the two programmes.
