Elemental delivers Chilean football
October 21, 2013
Elemental Technologies, a supplier of video solutions for multiscreen content delivery, has revealed that Canal del Fútbol (CDF), the owner of the Chilean league rights, is using Elemental Live video processing systems for its Estadio CDF subscription VoD online streaming platform. The deployment is supported by Elemental partner Mediastream in Latin America.
Estadio CDF does not require viewers to subscribe to a pay TV service but rather pay a monthly fee to access content. Subscribers are able to watch live football matches from Chile’s Football League via the Internet with connected TV sets, PCs, Smart TVs, Macs or tablets. CDF plans to use the channel to promote content such as the Campeonato Nacional de Futbol Profesional Petrobras and Copa de Chile matches to viewers in Chile and all over the world, particularly Chileans living outside of the country.
“Elemental plays a key role in our multiscreen expansion,” said Samuel Hes, manager of multiplatform for CDF. “The powerful GPU-based video processing uniquely available with Elemental systems, the overall simplicity in deploying them and strong local support from Elemental have helped us dramatically reduce our time to market and to increase access for our subscribers.”
