TalkTalk adds new TV packages
September 26, 2013
TalkTalk has confirmed the launch of its Essentials TV proposition. Aimed at Freeview customers looking for a little extra TV but who don’t want to pay a lot, it gives viewers access to catch-up TV via a smaller, lower cost YouView set top box, for £7.50 a month. This is a headline price, not a promotion, and also includes totally unlimited broadband and evening and weekend calls.
Customers will get a smaller, lower cost YouView box worth £149, which lets customers enjoy the search, rewind and catch up functionality of YouView but without the ability to record.
TalkTalk’s higher tier Plus TV package offers the ability to record with a YouView + box worth £299.
TalkTalk has also announced that it is extending its relationship with Sky to offer Sky Movies and Sky Sports On Demand – to subscribers of its flexible, one-month Sky Movies and Sky Sports Boosts – at no extra charge. Once fully rolled out, customers will be able to access hundreds of blockbuster movies on demand and Sky Sports catch up and library content on demand via the TalkTalk Player.
Dido Harding, Chief Executive of TalkTalk says: “This is TalkTalk doing what it does best, giving consumers access to exciting new products at unbeatable prices and the launch of Essentials TV underpins our role as Britain’s fastest growing TV service. Each week thousands more homes are signing up to YouView from TalkTalk because of our great value offering. TalkTalk is at an exciting stage of its growth and momentum is only increasing.”
