Bouygues Telecom goes multiscreen by proposing a complete OTT service in its offer.
The French telecom operator announced today that it has selected Cognacq-Jay Image, a TDF Media Services company, to launch a complete OTT service. Since 2005, Bouygues Telecom has been a pioneer in TV services by proposing its suscribers with a full TV bouquet first on mobile phone, then on IPTV. Bouygues Telecom’ suscribers will soon access to a real multiscreen experience with more than 200 SD channels, 10 HD channels available on the Bbox (IPTV) and about 60 TV channels available on tablets and smartphones (OTT).
“Our strategy is to differentiate from our competitors thanks to the user-experience and the quality of our service. Thus we partnered with Cognacq-Jay Image, which has a great experience in video and workflow management. Thanks to the quality and coverage of our 4G network, our subscribers have access to a full “TV everywhere” user-experience with the best video quality possible. The expertise of the Cognacq-Jay Image engineering team has been greatly valuable as it encompassed broadband technology on every screen” says Franck Abihssira, head of Fixed Services and Content Division, Bouygues Telecom.
“Supporting Bouygues Telecom in the deployment of its multiscreen services was an exciting challenge because of the huge diversity of formats to address, but this is our expertise to manage this complexity” says Thierry Carpentier, CEO of Cognacq-Jay Image.
This service is fully hosted and monitored in the Cognacq-Jay Image’s OTT platform, which daily manages live recording, encoding and delivery of more than 2000 TV streams, ensuring the highest quality of service.
