Belgacom selects Technicolor platform
June 20, 2013
Technicolor has been selected to supply Belgacom, the leading telco in Belgium, for its next generation “BBOX3” to roll-out smart home services over its ultra-broadband network.
Belgacom is deploying the MediaAccess “XTREAM” platform, Technicolor’s latest ultra-broadband gateway, that supports the innovative Vectoring technology to offer its consumers an even higher Internet speed in the future. It leverages Quantenna’s dual band (2.4 & 5Ghz, 4×4) wireless video bridge to enable the distribution of multiple HD TV channels over Wi-Fi within the home without any interruption nor flickering on the screen.
François Rossiensky, Senior Vice President EMEA for Technicolor Connected Home, said: “We are very proud to partner with Belgacom to build new avenues within the Smart Home domain in Belgium. Belgacom can count on our local Edegem teams’ 10 years leadership in the gateway market to exploit the best of our MediaAccess “XTREAM” platform, leveraging our accumulated know-how in wireless, ultra-broadband and home network software technologies.”
