7m 4K displays sold by 2016

The displays are incredibly expensive, there’s next to nothing to view on them, and zero by way of consumer playback equipment – yet seemingly more than a half-million 4K displays will be sold this year, according to data from NPD Display Search.
Sales volumes will ramp up as retail prices fall, reaching more than 7 million units by 2016. China will lead sales volumes followed by the USA. China is forecast to buy more than 300,000 units this year growing to more than 2.6 million by 2016. The USA will take more than 2 million by 2016.
