TeliaSonera, Samsung IPTV for smart TVs
August 30, 2012
Scandinavian telco TeliaSonera and Samsung are jointly developing a smart TV service that will allow IPTV access offering full support for linear, catch-up and on-demand content – without the need for a set-top-box
Once a Samsung Series 7 or 8 smart TV is connected to the Internet in applicable markets, it will recognise the local IPTV provider that the customer is using and the IPTV user interface will appear automatically with all TV services ready to use.
The smart TV service is scheduled to launch in TeliaSonera’s Estonian market late this year, and expanded into Sweden and Finland early next year.
