Sky buys The Cloud

BSkyB is adding to its range of subscriber services with the purchase of WiFi on-the-go business The Cloud from a group of VCs.
The deal, reported in the News Corp owned Sunday Times, is likely to be announced along with financial results on Tuesday – Sky is expected to report a 25 per cent increase in profit to £505 million (€594m) for the half year.
The Cloud currently provides 3m customers with mobile broadband and the service would become available to Sky’s 2.8 million broadband custmers. The Cloud has 22,000 hotspots via deals with retailers, restaurants and hotels in UK, Sweden and Germany.
