September 13, 2016
Hollywood studio Lionsgate and Spanish-language network Univision Communications have revealed plans to launch a premium subscription service for Hispanic audiences in the US.
Lionsgate head Jon Feltheimer and Univision president Randy Falco said in a joint statement the SVoD service would launch early next year. They described the venture as “the first premium SVoD movie service designed specifically for the tens of millions of Spanish-speaking and bilingual Hispanic consumers in the US.”
It will feature Spanish-language films from Lionsgate’s Televisa and Pantelion Films arms, and Hollywood films from the studio’s library and other catalogues dubbed into Spanish.
