Spike Lee movie exclusive for Amazon
July 16, 2015
Amazon has announced that it will premiere Spike Lee’s upcoming film Chiraq – marking the first time its Amazon Prime Video streaming service has offered an original movie.
The film, which Lee directed and co-wrote, is a musical comedy about violence in Chicago starring Wesley Snipes, Jennifer Hudson, John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson.
“I’m honoured to be part of the film that will launch Amazon Studios and to tell a story that is so important,” Lee said. “Please don’t be fooled by the title of Chiraq. This new Spike Lee joint will be something very special. We have assembled a stellar cast.”
