Portugal: 3.4m pay-TV subs in Q1

The number of pay-TV subscribers in Portugal reached 3.4 million at the end of the first quarter of 2015, according to data by the National Communications Authority (Anacom). This represents a growth of 54,000 on the previous quarter and of 194,000 compared to the same period in 2014.
Cable TV subscribers accounted for 40.2 per cent of the total, followed by subscribers on fibre optic networks (20 per cent) and DTH/satellite subscribers (17.7 per cent). The highest growth was registered among fibre subscribers (31.2 per cent yoy).
