The Spanish Competition watchdog, CNMC, has imposed fines of €150,000 each on the country’s two largest TV groups, Atresmedia and Mediaset, for breaking the law for commercial breaks.
Both companies have been fined for inserting adverts in the middle of shows interrupting them and not respecting “the integrity of programmes”. These unlawful practices were made in several channels such as Divinity and Energy, operated by Mediaset, and Neox and Nova, operated by Atresmedia.
These are the latest fines imposed on both companies which recently were also sanctioned with €131,501 (Mediaset) and €165,748 for mixing advertising and editorial content.
