Babeleye extends partnership with Eutelsat

September 10, 2025

Babeleye, a specialist in content metadata solutions, has announced the extension of its strategic partnership with satellite operator Eutelsat. This renewed collaboration further solidifies Babeleye’s role as metadata provider for Sat.tv, Eutelsat’s FTA satellite television service across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

The Sat.tv service, designed to offer a user-friendly satellite TV experience to millions of households, depends heavily on rich, structured, and localised metadata to power its Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) and content discovery features. Since the launch of Sat.tv, Babeleye has been instrumental in delivering metadata in multiple languages, enabling seamless navigation and improved viewer engagement.

With this partnership extension, Babeleye also announced that its metadata is now being delivered in DVB-I and HbbTV format, supporting the Connected TV version of Sat.tv. This ensures a future-proof content discovery experience across both traditional and IP-delivered platforms, expanding Sat.tv’s reach to smart TVs and hybrid devices.

“We are honoured that Eutelsat continues to place its trust in Babeleye,” said Hamid Ouddane, CEO of Babeleye. “Our mission has always been to simplify access to quality content across diverse markets. With the integration of DVB-I and HbbTV and our expanding metadata capabilities, we’re taking a major step forward in helping Eutelsat making Sat.tv more accessible, flexible, and user-centric.”

“Babeleye’s flexibility and technological innovation have allowed us to deliver a consistent, high-quality experience to millions of Sat.tv users” added Jean Luc Deroudilhe, SVP Advanced TV Services at Eutelsat. “Their support is central to our roadmap for expanding digital TV access across our regions.”
