Harmonic has announced an advanced central management system for its hybrid streaming solution to simplify workflow operations across cloud and on-premises environments. The intelligent management system at the heart of Harmonic’s hybrid streaming solution enables operators to seamlessly deploy and configure any video workflow, unlocking the full benefits and cost efficiencies of hybrid streaming architecture.

Harmonic’s hybrid streaming solution optimizes storage and egress costs by keeping fresh, high-demand VoD, nPVR and live-to-VoD assets on-premises while shifting less-popular content to the cloud. The central management system is critical to this process by automating content migration from on-premises to the cloud based on rules such as content freshness and popularity. Content migration is transparent to the content management system (CMS), ensuring seamless operations.
