Marketing veteran researchers launch MX8 Lab

August 19, 2025

Megan Daniels and Tom Weiss have announced the launch of MX8 Labs – a research platform explicitly designed to eliminate time-consuming, manual survey processes and leverage AI for quicker, scalable, actionable results.

MX8 Labs’ more efficient way to conduct quantitative research is especially critical to lean insights teams, who are often stretched for bandwidth. MX8 Labs’ proprietary research platform takes arduous research tasks – such as survey programming, fielding, data processing, and reporting – and supercharges them without compromising depth or quality of the results.

While MX8 Labs revolution in research can be leveraged by any brand looking for cost-cutter innovation, it can have a particular upside with “challenger brands” –  companies that are smaller, newer and/or independent from large corporations – whose lean research teams often face an uphill battle to gain market share and, ultimately, customer success.

The announcement follows a highly-successful beta period that saw the company scale commercially, build trust, and drive results throughout the industry.

Founded by researchers for researchers, the MX8 Labs Research Platform was designed to replace the bottlenecks, frictions, and fragmented environments of the traditional survey process with an end-to-end system designed for today’s hyper-paced and competitive landscape.

While still leveraging real consumers for respondent-level sample size, the platform harnesses AI’s power to reduce the time it takes to design, execute, and analyze market research surveys from days to hours or even minutes, dramatically increasing research capacity without sacrificing quality, flexibility, or attention to detail.

MX8 Labs is led by two formidable research pioneers, whose expertise bridges deep industry knowledge with a passion for innovation.

Daniels, who steps in as CEO, was most recently the SVP of Product, Advertising Solutions for data analytics and market research firm MarketCast. Prior to this, Daniels held executive roles at Phoenix Marketing International following an illustrious research career at Forrester Research.

“Marketers and researchers are under more pressure than ever to generate useful insights and data, but face tighter budgets, rising demand, and rapidly shifting consumer attitudes,” said Daniels. “Generic survey templates and surface-level analytics won’t cut it. MX8 Labs’ AI-powered tool streamlines the survey workflow so researchers can design and field the surveys they need and focus more time generating meaningful and actionable insights.”

Weiss is the former Chief Data Scientist at Inscape and MarketCast and has previously held roles at T-Mobile, GFK, and Deductive. Weiss is no stranger to the founder’s mentality. He founded multiple businesses that had exited to GFK, Ericsson, Verimatrix, and MarketCast.

Informed by their storied careers, Daniels and Weiss realised there was an obvious industry need for better, faster, and more efficient market research surveys without compromising the stability or quality of the results.

“MX8 Labs was created to democratise access to business critical customer insights by removing all the difficulty and inefficiency of traditional survey practices,” said Weiss. “By appropriately leveraging today’s AI capabilities, there’s no reason for researchers to have to compromise between speed and accuracy at the sake of their bottom lines. With the MX8 Labs Research Platform, researchers can literally know it all.”

Clients, such as performance marketing leader Wunderkind, have already found MX8 Labs invaluable.

“We live in a highly competitive, fast-paced world that requires constant access to market insights that move at the speed of business,” said Tim Glomb, Vice President of digital, content, and AI at Wunderkind. “MX8 Labs delivers exactly that with ease, consistency, and accuracy. Since we’ve integrated the MX8 Labs platform into our research practices, we’ve enjoyed immediate and measurable results.”
