HbbTV releases Version 2019-2 of Conformance Test Suite

The HbbTV Association, a global initiative dedicated to providing an open standard for the delivery of advanced interactive TV services through broadcast and broadband networks for connected TV sets and set-top boxes, is pleased to announce that the HbbTV Testing Group has published a new version of the HbbTV Conformance Test Suite.
The new version is called v2019-2, marking the second and last major release of the Test Suite in 2019. The release comprises new tests for the HbbTV 2.0.2 specification (including HDR and HFR video, AC-4 and MPEG-H audio), Operator Applications and now contains a total of 2.434 test cases, 1.677 of them approved. This is an increase of 160 tests over the previous version v2019-1 of the Test Suite.
“The HbbTV Conformance Test Suite is an important tool for device manufacturers to verify compliance of their products with the most current HbbTV specifications and their new features. The latest major update reflects our ongoing commitment to provide broadcasters and platform operators with advanced solutions for compelling hybrid services, offering an enhanced viewer experience,” said Vincent Grivet, Chair of the HbbTV Association.
The HbbTV Conformance Test Suite can be used by anyone through one of the registered HbbTV test centres. Additionally, HbbTV members may have the convenience of using it in their own facility.
