From David Del Valle in Madrid
Italian Serie A has backed the launch by Spain’s Mediapro of a corporate football TV channel, branded ‘Lega’, for the period 2021-2024, with a rights fee of €1.3 billion.
The Italian football teams have welcomed Mediapro’s channel and have asked Serie A League to reach an agreement with the Spanish company before September 30th.
Mediapro would launch the Lega channel – that would include all football content from Serie A – to sell to platforms like Sky, Mediaset, DAZN and other possible services with an annual revenue forecast of €1.1 billion.
