Malaysia DSO by September

Malaysia’s Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) says that it will cease broadcasting in analogue by September.
MCMC’s chief digital officer Gerard Lim Kim Meng said the digital television project would close the gap of the urban-rural divide by giving local viewers new improved broadcast services for free.
The new all-digital bouquet, ‘myFreeview’ has already reached 2 million homes thanks to free decoders issued by the MyTV Broadcasting company.
Lim said that the digital signals were covering 98 per cent of Malaysia’s population.
The myFreeview platform offers 15 TV channels and six radio channels.
