France: Rugby World Cup FTA on TF1

French commercial broadcaster TF1 has announced that it will exclusively air all 48 matches from this year’s Rugby World Cup on a free-to-air basis..
TF1 had acquired the rights to the competition in March 2018. Previously, it had shared the rights with pay-TV channel Canal+.
The tournament will be held in Japan and kicks off on September 20th. The first match played by the French national team will see them take on Argentina on September 21st.
