Whisper delivers The Hundred for BBC
July 22, 2026
Whisper, the independent production company, has been appointed by the BBC to deliver its live broadcast and digital coverage of the 2026 season of The Hundred.
Marking the first time Whisper has worked with BBC Sport on the cricket tournament, the agreement spans eight live matches, featuring the tournament’s back-to-back women’s and men’s double-header format highlighted by the blockbuster Finals at Lord’s on August 16th.
Whisper will operate an integrated production model, seamlessly blending its live broadcast expertise with multi-platform digital content production. The unified approach is designed to maximise the tournament’s impact across linear television and online, helping the BBC deepen its digital footprint and connect with broader and non-traditional sporting audiences.
The operation will be delivered by Whisper’s Wales-based division, Whisper Cymru, coming directly out of the Cymru Broadcast Centre (CBC) in Cardiff. The CBC will act as the engine for the tournament’s dual live feeds while acting as a vital vehicle for regional media investment and developing local production talent in Wales.
Rob Williams, Executive Producer at Whisper, commented: “We are incredibly proud to be trusted by the BBC to deliver The Hundred for the first time. This tournament has entirely reshaped the domestic cricket landscape through its fast-paced format and equal billing for the women’s and men’s games. To look after eight live double-headers, leading right up to the spectacular Finals at Lord’s, is a massive honor for our team. Our aim is to lean directly into our ‘Entertainment is Everything’ mantra, bringing high-energy storytelling to ensure the broadcast matches the electric atmosphere found in the grounds.”
To mirror the energy of the live broadcast, Whisper’s social and digital division will create platform-specific content to optimise reach across BBC’s digital and social touchpoints. Supporting on design and graphics will be Whisper’s in-house graphic design agency Chapter3, who will once again supply the BBC with a complete wrap-around graphics.
Alexander O’Hagan, Senior Digital Lead at Whisper, added: “The Hundred is an incredible tournament because it naturally lives where the fans are, both in the stadium and digitally. By combining our live production engine with dedicated, platform-first digital assets, we are offering services that lets fans interact with the tournament whenever and wherever they choose. This is about deeper integration: capturing the emotion, athlete personalities, and cultural hype to help the BBC spark new conversations, engage next-generation demographics, and drive long-term viewer retention.”
Whisper, which has already commenced work on the tournament, will deliver live coverage and digital support for the following double-header dates across July and August:
