Pasha Patriki and 9 Light Entertainment launches unscripted division

Toronto-based film and TV production outfit 9 Light Entertainment das announced the launch of its unscripted division, with its new TV series Lights, Camera…Kitchen! (4×27’), a reality format commissioned by Bell Fibe TV1 in Canada. 9 Light Entertainment has announced the series will be released on Fibe TV1 on May 28th.
Fusing behind-the-scenes access with the fast-paced comedy and drama of a working kitchen, Lights, Camera… Kitchen! follows two entrepreneurs and business partners, Nataliya and Leeza; a Russian and a-Ukrainian who turned a shared love of cooking and community into a multi-generational catering operation, serving film and TV productions.
Joined by Nataliya’s mother Irina, Leeza’s mother Sasha, and Nataliya’s daughter Kristina, the series depicts the inspirational story of five women across different generations as they deliver meals to cast and crew across demanding shoots, from remote locations to harsh Northern Ontario winters, navigating the pressures of both family life and production deadlines.
Each episode captures the action on both sides of the camera, spotlighting everything from creative menu planning, family drama, entrepreneurial spirit and culinary mishaps to behind-the-scenes film production challenges. Rooted in the universal language of food and shaped by a cross-generational perspective on building a business, the series explores themes of identity, resilience and workplace culture that travel across territories.
The dedicated unscripted arm and new reality format reflects 9 Light Entertainment’s specialist expertise in creating unscripted, innovative TV content with an international focus, through the development of co-productions and globally minded formats. . Lights, Camera… Kitchen! was developed with international distribution in mind and is primed for global sales across unscripted markets.
As well as an unscripted division, 9 Light Entertainment continues to expand its slate of scripted film and TV. Founded by Pasha Patriki in 2015, it operates with a strategic emphasis on commercially driven, export-ready IP designed for multiple territories. In 2017, 9 Light Entertainment joined forces with Raven Banner Entertainment to launch Hangar 18 Media the genre film production company that has since produced over a dozen feature-length films. Many of 9 Light Entertainment’s original titles, as well as films produced with Hangar 18 Media are available on Crave, and Tubi, Shudder, Netflix, and in theatres internationally.
With over 25 years of industry experience, Patriki holds the CSC designation from the Canadian Society of Cinematographers, where he received the highest accolades for his visual work (Best TV Drama Cinematography, “Gridlocked”, 2015). Patriki’s credits include action feature Black Water, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren. Other films include Please Kill Mr. Know It All, Gridlocked, The Sound, and Anonymous.
