FIE extends WBD partnership

The International Fencing Federation (FIE) has agreed a new long-term partnership with Warner Bros Discovery (WBD), continuing their collaboration to broadcast all major events on the international fencing calendar to 75 markets across Europe and Asia.
This includes live coverage of the FIE World Championships across Europe, the FIE European Championships across Europe and Asia as well as highlights of the of the epée, foil and sabre FIE Grand Prix circuits across Europe and Asia. Audiences can watch coverage on Eurosport (across Europe and Asia) and TNT Sports (UK and Ireland), with streaming available on HBO Max in Europe.
As part of the partnership, WBD will heighten visibility of the sport by producing highlights and editorial features for its channels and platforms. It will also collaborate with the FIE to strengthen fencing’s social media presence, expand its reach, and attract new audiences through dedicated social clips and branded content on the Road to LA28.

WBD said plans to capitalise on the significant audiences watching its fencing coverage at the Olympic Games Paris 2024. Fencing was observed as one of the most popular sports in key territories such as France, Italy and Hungary.
