Canada: Premier Sports launches rugby streaming service

January 27, 2026

Premier Sports has announced the launch of a dedicated streaming service in Canada, giving rugby fans across the country access to an array of international and club rugby competitions in one place.

The new Premier Sports service will stream every match of the Guinness Men’s Six Nations, U20 Six Nations, the Nations Championship tournaments live and on-demand, alongside coverage of southern hemisphere rugby including SANZAAR international tour matches and Super Rugby Pacific.

The Nations Championship debuts in July as a Northern v Southern hemisphere international tournament format to decide the dominant nation and balance of power between the two rugby hemispheres to be held every two years. It brings together 12 of the biggest international teams from across the Six Nations Unions and SANZAAR nations including Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and invitation teams Japan and Fiji.

The news of more live international rugby into Canadian rugby fans homes, comes after a new generation of players were inspirated by Canada’s women’s team performance in last year’s World Cup Final in front of 81,885 fans at Allianz Stadium in Twickenham – achieving silver as runners-up in the global competition to England’s Roses and currently #2 ranked in the World.

With Canada’s Men’s rugby team in Pool C of the 2027 World Cup in Australia alongside Argentina, Fiji and with a potential ten international test matches in 2026 fan engagement in the sport is growing particularly across British Columbia, Ontario, Alberta and Quebec. Canada’s men’s team were recently crowned champions in the SVNS (3) Sevens Champions in Dubai.

Premier Sports aims to work with Canadian rugby stakeholders to help increase interest and visibility for the game across the nation and to help support inspiration for emerging players coming through the pathways as Rugby Canada and its 10 provincial unions work closely to build participation and the next generation of players and supporters.

Ryle Nugent, CEO of Premier Sports Ireland and Asia, commented: “We’re delighted to offer rugby fans in Canada a single high quality streaming destination for the world’s biggest international tournaments and strongest club competitions available live, on-demand and on connected platforms nationwide. Canada has an informed and passionate rugby community and we look forward to bringing more tier one rugby to fans as the sport continues to grow in popularity ahead of the next World Cup. We hope that by making these world-class rugby competitions available, we will play our part in a new era of rugby growth in Canada.”

Premier Sports is available in Canada from just $29.99 per month.
