Disney+ has announced that original comedy series Chad Powers, starring Glen Powell, will premiere September 30th exclusively on Disney+ in the UK, with two episodes at launch, followed by one episode weekly.

The series picks up eight years after an unforgivable mistake nukes Russ Holliday’s promising college football career. The hotshot quarterback tries to resurrect his dreams by disguising himself as Chad Powers – a talented oddball who walks on to the struggling South Georgia Catfish. Based on the Eli’s Places segment from ESPN and Omaha Productions, the half-hour comedy from 20th Television will stream on Disney+ in the UK. Powell and Michael Waldron co-wrote the pilot.

The series also stars Perry Mattfeld, Quentin Plair, Wynn Everett, Frankie A. Rodriguez and Steve Zahn.

Chad Powers is from co-creators and executive producers Powell and Waldron. Eli Manning serves as executive producer along with Omaha Productions’ Peyton Manning, Jamie Horowitz, Ben Brown and ESPN’s Burke Magnus, Brian Lockhart, Kati Fernandez. Waldron and Adam Fasullo are executive producing for Anomaly Pictures. Luvh Rakhe will executive produce and Tony Yacenda will serve as director and executive producer.

Powell is co-creating and executive producing under his production co-banner Barnstorm Productions.
