Appear, a specialist in live production technology, has appointed Shakunt Malhotra as Vice President for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. In this role, Malhotra will spearhead Appear’s strategic growth across the APAC market, focusing on delivering customised media solutions.

Malhotra joins Appear following an 18-year tenure at Globecast, where he held multiple senior leadership roles, most recently as Managing Director for Asia. With extensive experience managing and delivering complex projects – including satellite and fibre link deployments, cloud-based playout systems, and large-scale facility expansions – Appear says Malhotra is ideally equipped to replicate its success in North America and Europe to the APAC region.

In his new role, Malhotra will focus on delivering new customer growth, seamless customer service, technical support, and technology innovation. His experience spans a broad range of industries in the region, allowing Appear to address the unique needs of broadcasters, telecom operators, and sports rights holders, with a particular focus on live events and sports broadcasting. Malhotra will also champion Appear’s strong commitment to ESG, helping customers reduce their carbon footprint through power-efficient, space-saving technologies.
