SpaceX launched another batch (Mission 4.20) of Starlink satellites late on September 4th at 10.09pm Florida-time.
Fifty-one satellites were launched on this particular flight, and it established a new record for SpaceX and its 40th mission so far this year. Also onboard was Spaceflight’s Sherpa-LTC orbital transfer vehicle.
This was the seventh flight for the first stage booster supporting this mission, which previously launched Arabsat-6A, STP-2, COSMO-SkyMed Second Generation FM2, KPLO, and now three Starlink missions. The booster safely landed on the ‘Just Read The Instructions’ floating barge.
SpaceX observer Jonathan McDowell says that there are now 3,258 Starlinks launched, and 2,990 in orbit.
The next Starlink launches are currently scheduled for September 10th and September 12th.
