LaLigaSportsTV Plus launches

Spain’s top-flight football league La Liga has launched a premium version of its LaLigaSportsTV OTT operation in an attempt to monetise the service.
LaLigaSportsTV Plus will offer exclusive content such as the National League of Indoor football, the Spanish Handball League, AFC Champions League and Russian Premier League for a monthly fee of €2.99 or a yearly fee of €19.99, with an initial promotion of two months for free.
The LaLigaSportsTV free to air service will be also continue to be available with new content, including athletics, triathlon, petanque, tennis, among others.
“We have been in the market for three years and we think it is the right time to go further and offer our best content at a highly competitive price,” commented Alfredo Bermejo, director of Digital Strategy at La Liga. “We are starting to monetise our Premium content with an attractive offer.”
