India’s Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRAI) stated on Sept 14 that it was recommending that Cloud operators and service providers be supervised by a newly established “light touch regulatory framework”.
TRAI added that the new supervisor should require all cloud service providers (CSPs) be part of the new body.
“This body would lay down broad principles and procedures to aid its functioning,” Trai said in its detailed proposals and saying the new regulator, if drawn from all stakeholders, would ensure the right balance would be struck amidst a light-touch regulation.
