China Central TV (CCTV) has transmitted an 8K Ultra HD television signal over 5G wireless.
The CCTV signal was sent from the broadcaster’s studios in Beijing to delegates at the Mobile World Congress gathering in Shanghai.
Technology participants in the test included China Media Group, China Unicom and Huawei. Signals were carried at 320 Mb/s.
Jiang Wenbo, a senior executive at China Media Group, said that the successful test again proves that 5G networks offer reliable technological support to the extensive application of UHD TV.
