From David Del Valle in Madrid
Movie and TV series streaming service Wuaki, owned by the Japanese company Rakuten, has been rebranded as Rakuten TV coinciding with the start of a four-year sponsorship deal with the Barcelona football team.
Rakuten.tv currently has around five million registered users across 12 countries, of which approximately 40 per cent are in Spain.
Ratuken has also revealed plans to fund and produce its own movies, with the first title set to be revealed before the end of the year.
