Toca Boca axing SVoD app
March 23, 2017
Toca Boca has revealed it is closing down Toca TV, its US SVoD kids app, just 9 months after it launched.
The video platform for kids, which features original content produced by Toca Boca and costs $4.99 a month, will be discontinued as of March 31st.
The app was rolled out in Canada, Australia and New Zealand in June last year and was later made available around the globe. In a statement on the Toca Boca website, company co-founder and CEO Björn Jeffery said Toca TV was being closed because “subscriptions were lower than anticipated.” Subscribers who signed on for future months will be able to receive a refund through the App Store or Google Play.
