The evidence is in the just released Planet Earth II where new standards of immersion are set as the production teams interact with animals from the largest to the microscopic. Andy King, Head of Technology TV Production, talks about the challenges overcome in capturing and storing so much data, in ‘hand grading’ the HDR, and looks forward to a UHD iPlayer. On standards, he is optimistic they are coming into place, but both make a plea: ‘Don’t forget the audio!’
