Russia’s pay-TV hits 33m

Latest data, published by newspaper RBC Daily reveals that 33 million homes in Russia are now viewing pay-TV – representing some 60 per cent of households, and up 4 percentage points since the previous quarter year.
The market leader is satellite operator Tricolor TV, which led with 9.75 million subscribers. Rostelecom follows with 7.024 million subscribers. MTS, ER-Telecom and Orion Express totalled 2.98 million, 2.54 million and 1.16 million, respectively, and the subscriber base of Akado was said to be 1.112 million.
