SyFy mobile streaming app
August 16, 2013
US cablenet Syfy has launched an app allows US users to stream its programming to mobile devices. The Syfy Now app will enable subscribers using iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices to access content the day after its original broadcast on Syfy.
Authenticated viewers can stream full episodes of shows including Haven, Defiance and Paranormal Witness. There will also be bonus short form content from the shows. Facebook and Twitter update functions are integrated into the app for viewers that want to share details via social media.
“The launch of Syfy Now underscores our commitment to bring viewers TV Everywhere from across our portfolio of networks,” said Matt Bond, executive VP, NBCUniversal Content Distribution.
An Android version will launch in September.
