Airey leaves RTL
April 5, 2013
Dawn Airey is to leave broadcaster RTL after five years. The former Channel 5, Sky and ITV senior executive has been working on a number of projects including the launch of an RTL channel on cable in the US.
“It has been a delight to be part of the RTL Group family, but I feel the time is right to move on to new projects, particularly my role as chair of the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, as well as other commercial ventures,” she said.
Last year, RTL chief Gerhard Zeiler left to take a senior role at Turner Broadcasting and was replaced by co-chief executives Anke Schäferkordt and Guillaume de Posch.
On Thursday, Bertelsmann confirmed more details of its plan to sell down its stake in RTL to about 75 per cent. The company revealed that RTL Group will apply for listing of its shares on the Frankfurt stock exchange – adding to its listings in Luxembourg and the Euronext in Brussels.
