Sky Italia to add 13 HDTV channels in February

Sky Italia announced it is adding 13 HDTV channels on February 1, bringing the total of HD channels to 52.
The latest additions include Extreme Sports HD, MTV Live HD, launching directly in HD. A number of existing channels will get their HD versions – Fox Life, Real Time, Eurosport 2, ESPN America, Discovery Science, Discovery Travel & Living, History, Nat Geo Wild, Gambero Rosso, and Disney Channel. Additionally, Nat Geo Adventure will stop broadcasting in SD and switch exclusively to HD.
Sky Italia claims that over 70 per cent of its 5 million subscribers are equipped to receive HD broadcasts.
