4oD viewership continues to rise
November 1, 2011
4oD, Channel 4’s on-demand offering, saw its viewing figures continue to rise in September, with 33 million requested views across all platforms during the month, an increase on the 31 million views reported in August.
Up to the end of September, VoD views totalled 308 million for the year-to-date, up 19.3 per cent year-on-year. The service attracted 3.9 million average monthly unique viewers, an increase of 300,000 on the August total.
Comedy has remained the most popular genre on 4oD for a second month in a row, thanks to the continued success of the Inbetweeners. The three seasons of the show racked up over 4.5 million views in September – the most of any show, and a seventh of all viewing on Channel 4’s on demand platform. Teen soap-opera Hollyoaks was the most popular series overall, hitting 2.3 million views.
