Belgacom offers free football
June 15, 2011
Belgacom is increasing the number of free football matches available to its TV customers. Previously customers could watch one free match from the Jupiler league per day. From the 2011-12 season, they can watch every match which Belgacom holds the rights for, including five matches each Saturday and some of the play-off matches. No additional subscription is required.
Belgacom has acquired the broadcasting rights of the 150 Saturday evening matches and up to 32 play-off matches – 180 matches in total per season. However, the company no longer has exclusive rights to show the entire Jupiler league, as the football association awarded the rest of the matches to Telenet. The company said existing customers on the My Foot and All Live subscriptions will be informed of the changes and will have any prepaid subscriptions refunded.
