December 4, 2015
From David Del Valle in Madrid
Spanish telcos Orange-Jazztel and Vodafone-ONO have jointly acquired the football TV rights to La Liga for public venues (hotels, bars, restaurants) for over the next three seasons. It includes all football matches from the First and Second Division and the Copa del Rey.
They will pay €300 million for the TV rights which the companies plan to sell to third parties “under financially reasonable, objective and non-discriminatory conditions”, according to them.
